We keep it simple.
And we keep your data safe.

🛡️ The most important thing first
QuestMe is used by children. We have designed our service so that:
- We collect zero information about your child. No name, no age, no email, no usage data from the child — nothing.
- We only collect your (the parent's) name and email, and only to send you access to QuestMe.
- Children use QuestMe without creating an account. Progress is stored locally on the device only.
- We do not advertise, track, profile, or sell data. Full stop.
1. Who we are
QuestMe™ is an NSW maths practice tool created for primary school children (Years 4–6), based in New South Wales, Australia.
Contact: [email protected]
QuestMe is currently in early access (beta). This Privacy Policy applies to the website at questme.com.au and the QuestMe app accessible via that domain.
2. What information we collect
From parents / guardians (via the early access form)
- Your name — so we can address you personally
- Your email address — to send you access details and occasional product updates
- Your child's year level — so we can confirm QuestMe is appropriate for your child's stage (we do not know your child's name, school, or any personal details)
- Optional survey answers — what maths tools you currently use, what frustrates you. This is product research only.
From children using QuestMe
Nothing. Children do not create accounts. No data from a child's QuestMe session is sent to our servers. Quiz results, streaks, and wrong-answer history are stored locally on the device only (browser localStorage). We cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it.
Automatically collected data (website)
Our website host (Cloudflare Pages) may log standard server data including IP addresses and browser types for security and uptime monitoring. This data is not linked to any personal profile and is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or advertising tools on any QuestMe page.
3. How we use your information
We use parent/guardian information only to:
- Send you your QuestMe access password and link
- Follow up to ask how your first session went (one email, not a drip campaign)
- Send product updates or changes to QuestMe (infrequently — you can unsubscribe at any time)
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or sharing with any third party. We will never sell your data.
4. Legal basis for processing (Australian Privacy Act 1988)
We collect and process your personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The legal basis for processing is:
- Consent — you voluntarily provide your name and email by submitting our form
- Legitimate interest — to operate and improve QuestMe as a service
We are aware of the forthcoming Children's Online Privacy Code (expected to be in force by December 2026 under the Online Safety Act 2021). We have designed QuestMe from the ground up to collect no child data, which we believe places us well within those requirements. We will review and update this policy when the Code is finalised.
5. How we store your data
Parent/guardian sign-up data is stored in two places:
- Locally in your browser — a copy is saved to your device's localStorage at the moment of form submission, as a backup
- Formspree — we use Formspree, a US-based form processing service, to securely receive sign-up submissions from parents. Formspree stores data on servers in the United States. Their privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
We do not use any Australian-hosted database or cloud storage at this stage. No child data is sent to any server, anywhere.
6. Your rights
Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information at any time
- Withdraw consent and opt out of communications
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have not handled your personal information appropriately, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
7. Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
The QuestMe app uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to save quiz progress, streaks, and wrong-answer history on the child's device. This data never leaves the device and is not accessible to us. It can be cleared at any time by clearing browser data.
8. Third-party services
- Cloudflare Pages — website hosting. Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts — fonts loaded from Google servers (Baloo 2, Nunito). Google may log requests. No personal data is passed. Privacy Policy
- Formspree — form data receiver. US-based. Privacy Policy
No other third-party services are used. No Meta, Google Analytics, TikTok Pixel, or similar advertising infrastructure appears on any QuestMe page.
9. Children's privacy — our commitment
QuestMe is designed for children but our service relationship is entirely with the parent or guardian. We have specifically built QuestMe so that:
- Children never need to enter their name, email, age, or any personal information to use QuestMe
- No child usage data (quiz answers, scores, session times) is transmitted to any server
- The app functions fully offline once loaded, with all progress stored locally
- There are no social features, chat functions, or user-generated content
- There are no in-app purchases or advertising
This design is intentional and reflects our commitment to children's safety and privacy as a core product principle, not an afterthought.
